The need for managers who can perform effectively is an essential requirement in business today. Drawing on a range of approaches to suit different situations, they must be able to demonstrate their management styles and management skills with confidence and conviction. This comprehensive course focuses on developing the interpersonal skills of the individual participant so that they can adapt their style to each person they manage. This is a pragmatic learning workshop, based on the needs of each delegate, and reflects the complexity of managing by not breaking down the process into convenient headings such as leadership, delegation, motivation, etc. Much of the training is carried out through discussion and activities plus the use of delegates’ own management situations as case studies. It is so important that management skills and styles are continually developed; hence this workshop is essential training for both established and newly appointed managers.

Who should attend:

Team Leaders, Supervisors, Managers: anyone who manages staff and would like to refresh their skills.

Typically, you will learn how to:

  • Manage staff using effective interpersonal skills
  • Apply techniques of motivation and empowerment
  • Understand the requirements of the manager’s role
  • Build self-confidence through the use of authority
  • Develop others using a coaching style of management
  • Identify areas of personal strength and areas for further development

Here’s what recent participants have said about this course:

“I have a more relaxed and positive approach to my job. I am happier and so are my lads and I am getting a good response from them. I never lacked confidence with them but the course and you helped me look at things in a different way.” – Stuart Smith, FFP Packaging Solutions

“I am writing to say how the last 2 days were such a rewarding experience. I had no idea what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised that I was able to enjoy myself so much whilst learning new skills. Needless to say, they will be put into practise without delay!” – Rosemary Grayston, University of Buckingham

“Just to give you feedback, the Management Development Workshop I’ve just attended was excellent and the Trainer was superb. This is the second course I’ve attended run by one of your trainers, the last being two or three years back on Behavioural Interviewing which was also excellent and which I now use in recruitment interviews. I would highly recommend this Northamptonshire based Training Organisation. Cheers.” - Malcolm Whale MInstF – Central England Regional Manager, The National Kidney Research Fund
