Problem Solving in Groups (2 ¼ hours)
Was the camel a horse designed by a committee? Problems solved by groups tend to be watered down, compromised and/or political and can easily end up as bad decisions. This Training Acorn will equip you to manage the group dynamics and behaviour to achieve an effective solution.
In two and a quarter hours you will learn:
- How to take control of the group
- How to stop individuals manipulating the group
- How to create a productive problem solving environment
- How to spot the power plays
- How to empower individuals within the group
- How to achieve better quality solutions to problems
Who should attend:
- Anyone who works as part of a group.
This Acorn in a nutshell:
- Research over the last 50 years has taught us much about group psychology. Using the work of Asch, Milgram and Janis you will firstly observe negative and manipulative behaviour within a group situation and then experience positive and productive behaviour whilst solving a number of problems within a small group.
